Obituary of Jill Marie Boutin

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Jill Marie Boutin (née Belsey) on November 30, 2022, at the age of 58. Jill was predeceased by her father Glenn and is lovingly remembered by her husband Joe; children Jeannine (Alex), Roger, and Lévi; mother Lilian; sisters Jodene (Peter) and Alison, as well as numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and extended family.

Jill was born in 1964 in Regina and was a lifelong resident of Whitmore Park. She attended Campbell Collegiate in Regina and received a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering with distinction from the University of Saskatchewan in 1987. A beautiful romance bloomed when Jill met Joe at a summer job during university, and they married in 1987. Jill earned her P.Eng. designation while working at the Co-op refinery. As her family grew, she set aside her professional career to raise her three children. She was a dedicated mother, daughter, and friend, always ready to lend a helping hand. She led a busy life assisting in her children’s education and activities, and volunteering for many organizations, including as a Girl Guide leader, as the treasurer for the RCS Band Parent Association, and many roles at St Martin’s Parish. After her children grew older, Jill returned to work as an administrative assistant, most recently at the Hospitals of Regina Foundation.

Jill loved history, music, literature, science, and nature. She shared these passions with her children and inspired them on their career paths. During the summers she enjoyed gardening and frequent camping trips where she was an intrepid hiker. She was an avid walker and enjoyed her 6 a.m. power walk of the Grant Road loop every day, regardless of the weather. She will be remembered for her patience, compassion, reliability, and practicality.

In her last act of kindness, Jill was able to enrich seven other lives through her gift of organ donation. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memoriam to The Canadian Transplant Association, PO Box 71530 Hillcrest PO, White Rock, BC V4B 3Z0 to honour her legacy.

A funeral service will take place at St Martin de Porres Parish, 4720 Castle Road, Regina, SK on Friday, December 9, 2022 at 11:00am.
