It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Dakota Keewatin on Saturday, December 10, 2022. He was predeceased by his grandparents Ann Margaret and Gordon Keewatin and Margorie and John Tawiyaka; step-dad Lyle Sangwais; adopted parents Ron and Kim Keewatin; his sister Crystal Keewatin; Nephew Dante Bitternose; and close friend Tabby Lonechild. Dakota is survived by his mother Cynthia Sangwais (Keewatin); father Ralph Tawiyaka; siblings Michael (Corinne) Le jour, Tiffany Keewatin (Tim) Jason Keewatin, Curtis Keewatin, and Cody Tawiyaka (Ken); adopted brothers Dakota James Dustyhorn, lil Jason Keewatin, and Kristen Keewatin; daughters Alora Keewatin, Dayzasha Starr, and Illianna Pinay; aunts and uncles; special nephews Kealem Keewatin and Payton Musqua; special nieces Michaela Le jour, Ezmirae Le jour, Destiny Shepherd, Natasha Kapay and Paris Keewatin; special cousins Mike Dubois, Cliff Dubois, Byron Keewatin, and Shayla Bellegarde.
