Orlee Jean Stormyr of Regina, Saskatchewan, passed away at the age of 69 peacefully with family by her side after a 5-year extremely courageous battle with cancer on December 22, 2022. She was born the middle daughter to parents Orville and Dorothy Stormyr of Hollonquist, on January 29, 1953 in Swift Current Saskatchewan.

Orlee was predeceased by her father Orville in July of this year; grandparents Ole and Anna Stormyr, and John and Lydia Nelson; and auntie Ellen Kinnaird and uncle Marvin Nelson. She is survived by her mother Dorothy Stormyr; spouse John Nuttall; her 3 children Kris (Karla and Lucas) Haughian, Jeff (Jessica) Haughian and Orlanna (Jeff, Austin, Jessica, Andrew) Earnshaw; stepchildren Steven (Shonna, Tiarra and Tyra) and Lori (Regan). She will be lovingly remembered by her older sister Julie (Dennis) Hilling along with family Sean Kuhlmann (Janice, Destiny (Taylor)); Marni Kuhlmann (Teegan, Hadley and Aliyah) and younger sister Shelly (Conrad) Haubrich along with family Blayne (Janel and Adelai); Robin (Kendal).

Orlee was raised on the family farm, started school in Hollonquist and graduated from Hodgeville High School in 1971. She went on to study Education and Arts at the University of Saskatchewan and the University of Regina and graduated with Bachelor of Education in 1998 and a Bachelor of Arts in 2000. She worked in education, daycare, marketing, and fundraising for several various community service organizations over the years.

She enjoyed softball, curling, and hunting her entire life. She was always active in the shooting and hunting communities. She taught hundreds of students their firearm safety and hunter education over the years. For the past 20 years, she has been actively participating and volunteering her time in the Trap Shooting community, particularly as a member at the Regina Trap and Skeet Club with her partner John.

Orlee met John in 1991 and moved in with him 10 years later. Together they travelled to many trap shoots all over North America, visited the Bahamas, and even took in a Nascar Race. They enjoyed time spent with family and quiet times together at home.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Dawn Nuttall for her help over the years. The doctors, nurses, and staff at the Allan Blair Cancer Center. And finally, the home care and palliative care nurses on ward 3A at the Pasqua hospital for the care and compassion they provided to Orlee in the final days of her life.

A Celebration of Orlee’s Life will be held at the Speers Family Centre, 2333 Cornwall Street, Regina, SK, on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the Alan Blair Clinic or the Regina Pasqua Palliative Care unit.
