Obituary of Teresa Ann Moxley

Teresa Ann Moxley

April 1, 1948 - January 6, 2023

All too soon for us, Teresa Moxley passed away on Friday, January 6th at the age of 74. Those of you who knew her well, knew that her closets were busting at the seams and the dust was thick in her home, but evidence of a life well-lived could be spotted amidst the chaos. Teresa loved to spend time on creative passions including painting, felting and crafting silver jewellery. She also supported many local artists with her regular purchases of creations that sparked her fancy at craft and jewellery shows. She enjoyed stretching her culinary skills in the kitchen and was always excited to bring something tasty to her community’s Friday night Happy Hour.

A fiercely independent woman, Teresa tried on many different careers. During the span of over 30 years in Bonnyville, Alberta she was an entrepreneur, worked at the Royal Bank and then, in the late 80s, pursued a university degree in Education. She was an educator who was always able to connect with the kids who most needed a champion. Once teaching got in the way of her passion for golf, she knew it was time to retire so she could spend more time on the links.

Teresa made her way back to her hometown of Regina where she reconnected with old friends and made new friends along the way. She was always “Tess” to her two sisters, Sheila and Moira. They enjoyed an annual “sisters trip” together during which they played hours of tile rummy or canasta and enjoyed laughs and time together.

Teresa was known as Bam Bam to her five grandchildren Mattea, Addy, Cooper, Charli and Georgia.

Her daughter and son, Kim and Jason, were fortunate to spend her final days with her and she passed knowing that she made a difference in many people’s lives and that she was loved deeply by friends and family alike.

In accordance with Teresa’s wishes, no service will take place. Endless gratitude goes out to the palliative care team who helped Teresa and her family in her final weeks.
