Obituary of Olga Ida Schmeling

Olga Schmeling, late of Riceton SK, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2023, at the age of 93 years. Predeceased by her loving husband Herb; parents Paul and Marta (Werner) Wittrock; and brother-in-law, Bill Farley.
She is survived by her loving son, Don (Lenore) Schmeling, daughter Leanne Morris, and sister Lil Farley; grandchildren Conrad, Michael (Laura), Matthew (Amanda) Schmeling, Jessica (Joshua) Brown, Michelle (Skylar) Morris and Natalie Morris; great-grandchildren Sabine, Franca, Ruby, Dylan, Isobell, Andrea, and MacKenzie; and many cousins, nephews and nieces.
Olga grew up on a farm in Craven, SK and attended Luther College and Balfour Tech in Regina. She then worked for the Sask. Gov. Department of Education and Municipal Affairs.
On May 6, 1951, she married Herb Schmeling, and moved to the farm at Bechard, SK. They were happily married for almost 70 years. Together they enjoyed travelling and visiting new places, family and friends.
Olga was very involved in her church: St. John’s Lutheran in Lang, SK, and had a strong commitment to maintain family and friend connections. She was an excellent record keeper. Olga had pride in her home and had a love of gardening.
A funeral service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK, on Sunday, January 22, 2023, at 1:00 p.m.
