Obituary of John James Ell

John James Ell was born December 26, 1925, in Holdfast and passed away peacefully February 12, 2023, at the age of 97. He was predeceased by his parents Charles and Barbara; brothers Richard, Carl and Nick and sisters Willie, Mary and Kay.  John is survived by his children Ken (Brenda)and their children Tylor, Robyn (Tyrel), great grandchildren Lexie and Liam; Dennis (Donna) and their children Stacey and Colton; brothers Leo (Helen), Robert (Ellie), Eddy (Pam); and numerous nieces and nephews.

John grew up on the family homestead in the Holdfast district. He graduated as an engineer and worked at the Hotel Saskatchewan for many years until 1973, when he moved to the Plains Health Center until his retirement.  John loved coaching his kids' baseball teams and later to cheer on his grandchildren at the ball diamond. He was an avid 10 pin bowler at the Prairie Lanes until its closure, and he then moved to the Glencairn Bolodrome and bowled on a family team as well as in the men's league. John enjoyed going to the gun range, playing a round of golf, collecting golf balls and he also shared his love of fishing with many family members.

John will be lovingly missed by all.

The Funeral Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Ave, Regina, SK, on Tuesday, February 21, at 1:00 p.m. with Very Rev. Thomas Nguyen officiating.
