Obituary of Reta Jean Walkington (Crossman)
Reta Jean Walkington (Crossman), late of Lumsden, SK, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at the age of 73 years. She was predeceased by her parents George and Mary Crossman; brother Harry Crossman; sister-in-law Margaret Crossman and brother-in-law Alvin Snider. Reta is survived by her children, Daniel Walkington and Angela Kangeter (Chris); grandchildren, Justin (Holly), Kristy-Lee (Tiffany), Kate-Lyn (Greg), and Nicholas (Jaimie); great-grandchildren, Nate, Ethan, Kovyn, Taylor, Layla, Nixon, Annistyn, Greysen, and Westlyn; brother Lloyd Crossman; sister Betty Snider; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and best friend for almost 50 years, Merlin Miller.
Reta grew up on a farm outside of Balcarres, SK. She learned the importance of family and hard work, which she carried with her for her whole life. Reta spent her career as a special care aide, providing loving and compassionate care to the loved ones of many families. Her own family and circle of friends were important to her and she showed them deep love with her care, attention, humour, honesty, and fierce heart.
Reta will be remembered as a kind soul with a zest for life, cruising in her car with some Cher or Elvis playing.
A private visitation and celebration of life will be held for family and close friends
