Anthony Antonini

Obituary of Anthony Joseph Antonini

Tony passed away peacefully at the age of 76 on Sunday, February 19, 2023. He was predeceased by his mother Mary, father Luigi and infant brother, Luigi. Tony is survived by his wife and best friend of 53 years, Carol; his children Sonia (Mark), Cory (Amy),  Dustin (Kelly), Keenan (Holly), and Jenalee (Terence); grandchildren Justin (Dani), Jacob (Liz), Jordon (Sheriton), Norah, Thomas, Simone, Dominick, Gwen, Candice, Toni, and Charlotte;  and great-grandchildren Ceanna, Ajay, and Luca; as well as his thirteen brothers and sisters.

Tony was happiest when surrounded by his family. Our family gatherings were often filled with love, laughter, animation, and music. Tony loved being a husband, dad, grandpa, papa, great-grandpa, and brother. He loved his Sunday church with his siblings and believed that to be the best form of medicine he could have. Tony loved life, always had a smile on his face and found the positive in everything. Even in his last days, Tony’s determination to fight continued.

Tony had an amazing team of doctors throughout his journey including his transplant doctor, Dr. Baltzan and his team. We were fortunate to have had an extra 25 years with dad after his sister Marcia donated her kidney. Without this gift, we would have never had that time with dad.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Regina General Hospital 5E, nurses and the Palliative Care team. Special thanks to Dr. Jacob Myles and Dr. Greg Baumann for their kindness in Tony’s last days.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the kidney foundation or register to become an organ donor. To leave an online message of condolence, please visit www.speersfuneralchapel.com
