Obituary of Douglas Anson Parks

Douglas (Doug) Anson Parks, late of Regina, SK, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2023 at the age of 77 years. Predeceased by parents Joe & Mary; in-laws Ben & Tillie; sister Fae; brothers Gerry, Colin, & Clifford; sisters in-law Geri & Diane; brother in-law Vern; and grandson Baby Jasper. Doug is survived by his wife Debby; son Cory (Amy); daughter Lori (Blair); grandchildren Ben, Duncan, Cohen & Alex; sister Pauline (Larry); brothers Ory (Lorna) & Oddie (Kim); brother in-law Cecil; sisters in-law Gail, Nellie & Jane; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family in Ontario, friends, and neighbours. Doug was born in Ontario, spending many years there and in Manitoba before moving to Saskatchewan in 1978. He had prior jobs in Hydro, the mines, truck driving, and at Neil’s Trailers. Doug spent most of his career working for the International Mill Service (IMS) from 1981 – 2008, followed by Richard’s Transport and Botkin Construction before officially retiring at the age of 72. Doug spent his remaining years having morning coffee with close friends, playing with his grandchildren, fishing with family and friends, taking care of Debby’s flowers, cleaning winter sidewalks for his neighbours, and sitting beside the house sunning himself in the warm weather. A celebration of life for Doug will take place at Speers Funeral Home on March 13, 2023 at 2:00 pm. Interment will take place at a later date. Family and friends so wishing may make donations, in memoriam, to the Allan Blair Cancer Centre or to the Hospitals of Regina Foundation, with designation of donation to 3B (Oncology Ward) at the Pasqua Hospital.
