Following a long and protracted battle with dementia, Darlene Jones, late of Regina, SK passed away peacefully at Salvation Army, William Booth Special Care Home on Sunday, March 5, 2023, at the age of 79 years. She is predeceased by her parents Alfred Dudley Jones and Ann Jones (Hyslop). Darlene is survived by her son, Timothy Dudley Kambo Jones, and special friends Jenny Ganshorn, Wendy Prior, Diane Bowler, Dr. Carol Geddes, and David Hewgill. Darlene was born April 3, 1943, in Swift Current, SK, and moved with her parents to Regina when she was 2 years old. Darlene attended Ecole Connaught and Sheldon Williams Collegiate and developed her lifelong love of music and choirs.  She worked at Pasqua Hospital (Grey Nuns) and Wascana Rehabilitation Centre, where she rose to a management position, and was involved in developing many improvements in the medical record system. Darlene was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Regina Lyric Light Opera Society, and multiple church choirs. She was a long-term member and volunteer for the Saskatchewan Music Festival and a member of the MacKenzie Art Gallery. She loved meeting people of all cultures and faiths, was an award-winning opera singer, an avid reader, a worldwide traveler, and an animal lover, especially of dogs (including Podgy). Despite the many challenges she faced in life, she will always be remembered for the kindness she showed to each and every person she met.
