Obituary of Kent Speers

Kent Richard Speers passed away peacefully surrounded by his children on Tuesday March 7, 2023, in Regina, SK at the age of 67 years old. Kent was the first of six children born to Jim and Joan Speers on June 2, 1955 in Leader, SK.

His pride was in his family, his children, and his long career as an IBEW 424 Journeyman Electrician.  

Kent is predeceased by his sister Kelli; his mother Joan; and his father Jim.

He is survived by his daughters Krista (Joel) Forsythe and Kayla (Kevin) MacKay; his son Austin (Pedro) Speers; his grandchildren Fynn and Irelynd Forsythe, Benjamin and Grace MacKay; his sister Teri (Gary) Smutko; his brothers Murray (Paulette) Speers, Cam (Carol) Speers, Ian Speers; and his Uncle Gordie Speers; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Kent was very generous – he put the needs of others before him and was willing to offer whatever he could to help.

Kent’s family would like to extend their gratitude to all the 3A Palliative Care staff at the Regina Pasqua Hospital for all their comforting support and thoughtful care in their Dad’s final days. 

The family will be holding a Celebration of Life on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at The Eagles Club, 9305 5th Street, Calgary, AB at 2:00 p.m.
