Obituary of Kathleen Patricia Fyffe

Kathleen Patricia (Pat) Fyffe passed away with her family by her side on Monday, March 6 at the age of 94. Pat was predeceased by her husband Jerry, her daughter Nancy and her sister Marion McKean. She is survived by her daughters Kathleen Fyffe, Marnie (Don) McMillan and Sandra Fyffe; her grandchildren Tricia (Marty) Ladouceur, Kyla (Nick) Medeiros of Ladysmith, B.C., Devin (Lindsey) Chadwick, Garrett McMillan (Vanessa Wagner), and Andrew McMillan (Breanna Hostin); and great-grandchildren Kya and Cade Ladouceur, Avey and Emilia Medeiros, Laken and Beckham Chadwick.

Born and raised in Tisdale, Saskatchewan, Mom moved to Saskatoon where she finished her high school and she and sister Marion could attend University. There she met her future husband Jerry. They graduated one weekend and were married the next, spending their honeymoon at the family cottage at B-Say-Tah on Echo Lake, SK. Jerry was the love of her life for their brief 22 year marriage.

Mom and Dad raised four daughters and together they were active in First Presbyterian Church, St. Stephen’s Church, and the Lions/Lioness Clubs. Mom worked as an administrative assistant at various schools including Grant Road, Milliken and Braun. After her retirement, Mom enjoyed taking adult education classes through the U of R, reading, organizing a “gourmet cooking” club with friends, and visiting with the ladies over coffee. She was a season ticket subscriber to Regina Symphony, Globe Theatre and Little Theatre for many years. She was popular with the grandchildren for her many deliveries of her famous brownies, chocolate chip cookies and rice krispie rolls.

Mom embraced beach life from the early days on Echo Lake and later on Katepwa. She loved having her children, and later her grandchildren and great grandchildren, grow up at the beach. From its earliest days without running water and indoor plumbing, to later years with a few more conveniences, the cottage brought family together.

The family would like to thank the Pasqua Hospital nursing staff of 4A and 3D, and Drs. Buhonwalla, MacDonald and Van Rooyen for their compassionate care.

At Pat’s request, there will be no public funeral. A private interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Pat’s family requests that in her honour you take a moment to let your loved ones know that they are precious.
