Obituary of Glenda Marie Korchinski

It is with tremendous sadness that we announce that Glenda’s brief, but fierce, fight against cancer ended on the morning of Sunday, March 19, 2023.

Born February 23, 1962, in Regina, the youngest child of Alvin and Anita Runge, she is survived by husband Kevin; children Alyssa (Gary) Jones – Wetaskiwin, AB, Jessica (Nick) Coderre – Regina, SK, and David (Megan) Korchinski – Kindersley, SK; grandchildren – whom she adored – Teegan (Ryan) and Danaka Jones, Connor and Quinn Coderre, and Emma Korchinski. She is also survived by her mother Anita; sisters Jeannie Bebbington, Sharon Cairns (George), Jacky Hoffert (Rick), Sandra Brown; brother Murray Runge; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, a great deal of extended family, and close friends. She was predeceased by her father Alvin; father-in-law Emil Korchinski; mother-in-law Sheila Adolphe; and brothers-in-law Al Brown and Ken Bebbington.

Glenda had just retired from the RCMP Training Academy “Depot Division” where she was the Administrative Services Manager for the Works Building. She loved the job, and the people there, but was so looking forward to retirement after completing twenty years of service at Depot.

Since discovering the return of her cancer mid-August, there have been numerous doctors, nurses, and health care staff that have helped us on this journey. In particular, the staff at the Alan Blair Cancer Clinic, Pasqua Hospital staff on 3D and 3B, and the wonderful Physio staff at Wascana Rehab, who were able to get Glenda mobile enough to spend one last Christmas at home. In her final days in the Palliative Care ward at the Pasqua (3A), she was surrounded by the most caring nurses. All these people are amazing souls, and our family thanks every one of you.

Funeral Mass will take place at Resurrection Parish, 3155 Windsor Park Rd, Regina, SK, on Friday March 24, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Brad Fahlman officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Memorial Park.
