Beloved son, brother, grandfather and family member Brennan Dickson, passed away peacefully Monday, March 20, 2023, on Mount Norquay, Banff, AB. He was so happy to be skiing in the Rockies and loved the Mountains. Brennan did not suffer, and the Creator called him home while he was on top of a mountain. Brennan was a proud father, uncle and Papa and he loved his children and grandbabies, with all his heart, they were his proudest joy and legacy. He was always one to offer help in times of need and his favorite phrase was “Do you need anything else?” His honesty, loveable nature, charismatic humor that was witty and eclectic will be greatly missed.

He loved to travel and lived in many places all over the world as a young person; Hawaii, Mozambique, Papa New Guinea, Portugal, Nigeria, Las Vegas and Manor.  In the countries he grew up in, he loved learning the local customs, cultures, and languages such as learning how to speak Portuguese. Eventually, the Dickson family settled in Saskatchewan and he graduated from Grade 12 at Holy Cross High School in Saskatoon, SK.  As a youth, he was a natural athlete and excelled in rugby and soccer.  Brennan moved to White Bear First Nations in his twenties and began working with the Bear Claw Casino when it first opened.  He was a dedicated employee and member of the SIGA family for over 20 years.  Brennan also played hockey with his SIGA teammates and was proud to be a part of the Bear Claw Casino legacy.  He loved hunting, mountain biking, golfing and loved working outdoors.  Brennan loved fishing and was in the process of fixing up a boat to get it out on the water.  He went on a shark fishing adventure with his brother Chadwick off the Gulf of Mexico in 2019. Brennan also had a mare paint horse named Breezy.

He lost his beloved son, Andrew in 2017 and his heart was always with him and had ensured his memory would not be forgotten through organizing Andrew’s 4 years of memorial feasts/giveaways. He also hosted a jiu-jitsu special under the name of Andrew Pasapa with the CopaSask Jiu-Jitsu Tournament, and for 2023 the family will be honoring and moving forward with supporting this. Brennan was helping raise his granddaughter, Anaya, and ensured she followed in her fathers footsteps by enrolling in jiu-jitsu and hockey. Andrew Jr. is the spitting image of his Papa, and he will be mentored by his big sister, Anaya.

He was focused on his health and wellness in these past few years. He had retired in Fort Qu’ Appelle and was living there with his beloved 4-legged friend, Roscoe, when he passed. Roscoe is now living with dad, Murray Dickson.

Brennan is survived by his daughter, Breanna Pasap (mother Nikki George) and traditionally adopted children; Tyson Nagy, Mischa and Paris Fink-Chernoff (mother Cassandra Fink); beloved grandchildren Anaya and Andrew Jr. (mother Sianna Goodwill).

He is also survived by his mother Doreen Pasap and fathers, Murray Dickson, Vincent BigEagle, John Watson; special Kokum Lillian Piapot; siblings Denise Lonechild (Greg), Joely BigEagle-Kequahtooway (Lorne), Jon Pasapa (Abbi), Chadwick Pasapa (Tara), Kara Pasapa (Arlen), Nathan Pasapa (Jody), Tammy Joy BigEagle, and Rodi BigEagle. Acknowledgments to his uncle Eugene Pasap, auntie Diane Pasap, niece Shana Pasapa and to Lucas Kennedy for always helping Brennan. He has numerous special cousins, aunties, uncles, nephews, nieces, friends, and relatives who loved him dearly.

Brennan was predeceased by his beloved mother, Gerri Dickson;  his maternal grandmother, Ethel Pasap;  grandfather, Stephen McArthur; his paternal grandparents Marjorie and Lawrence BigEagle. Brennan’s brother Mike Fox passed recently, and he was still grieving this loss too. His heart was always with his beloved son, Andrew Pasap.  The Creator has joined them together now and we know he is happy to be reunited with his loved ones.

We would be amiss if we did not mention the Edmonton Oilers. Brennan was a true-blue fan and he will be laid to rest with his Oilers jersey. The family is asking you to wear your favorite hockey jersey to the wake/funeral as we say our doksha ake, or see you. Brennan will be greatly missed by all his family and his friends. He is with our relatives now.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to Anaya Lynn & Andrew Pasap's trust fund (Account #7421885) at CIBC Carlyle branch, would be appreciated by the family.

Traditional wake/funeral cultural protocols are to be followed; young children are requested to stay home with their loved ones. Please bring your own feast kits and bags to reduce waste.
