Obituary of John Stoffel
In Loving Memory
John Stoffel
1933 - 2023
It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our dearly beloved father, John Stoffel of Regina, SK on Friday, March 31, 2023 at the age of 89 years.
Beginning on the family farm near Dysart, John was the first of five children born to his loving parents Anton and Katie. After graduating high school, John moved to Saskatoon where he attended the University of Saskatchewan, graduating as a professional civil engineer in the 1950’s.
John’s first job after graduation was with the City of Regina and later was hired by Sask Power where he established and dedicated himself to a long and productive career until his later retirement.
It was during his time at Dysart High School and playing in a band together where he met and later wed his lifelong love and wife, our beloved mother, Rose. John and Rose went on to have four children; Ron, Sandra, Sharon and Sheila.
John was a talented musician (saxophone, guitar), singer, and public speaker. He volunteered countless hours for many years performing his favourite old time polka music in care homes.
John was blessed with a studious and analytical mind and studied engineering manuals throughout his entire life. He was generous and consistently gave to many charities and the church. Love of animals, nature, and the quiet peacefulness of the family farm was very dear to his heart.
John was predeceased by his wife Rose and sister Marjorie. He is survived by his siblings Eileen, Jim and Brenda; his children Ron, Sandra, Sharon, Sheila; his grandchildren Anthony (Katie), Alexandra, Stefan, Anton, Aidan; his son and daughter-in-law Anthony and Cathy, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
“We love you Dad, always and forever. Thank you for your loyalty and everything you did. You will be greatly missed, until we meet again.”
Funeral Mass will take place at St. Martin de Porres Parish, 4720 Castle Road, Regina, SK on Friday, April 21st, 2023, 11:00 am.
