Obituary of Thomas James Williams
WILLIAMS, Thomas James
1944 - 2023
Thomas James Williams, age 78, of Regina, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus, on Sunday, April 2, after a brief but courageous struggle against cancer. He was born on May 7, 1944 to Joe and Rose Williams in Moose Jaw, Sask. Tom attended Riverview Collegiate in Moose Jaw and University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon. He worked in Winnipeg briefly where he met his ‘Rocket Girl’ and the love of his life, Iris. They were married on October 12, 1968 and they had 2 daughters, Tara and Dana. Tom worked as a Boilermaker with Local 555 until his retirement in 2003 when he went full speed into his second career of belt-making. Known as Mr. Belt to his loyal customers, he would sell his belts at Trade shows, Craft Shows, Gun shows and Summer Fairs. Tom will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His sense of humor, joy and encouraging words will be forever remembered. Tom is survived by his loving wife, Iris; daughters Tara Dantu (Mark) and Dana; grandchildren Elijah, Rachel, Joseph, Anna, Sarah and Lindsay; as well as great grandchildren Lindsay and Charlotte; his sister Donna Wist and many nephews, nieces and cousins. He was predeceased by parents, Rose and Joe Williams; and brothers-in-law, Bill Wist, Roy Jewsbury and Rick McKnight. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 17, 2023 at Lighthouse to All Nations Church, 686 Pasqua Street, Regina. Cremation to follow.
