Obituary of Allen William Schuster

July 8, 1936 – April 5, 2023

Allen, late of Regina, SK, was the oldest son born to William and Helen Schuster. He was born in the afternoon, in the south room of the house on the family farm, on July 8, 1936.

Allen attended King's School in Markinch, SK. He talked proudly about driving himself and his younger siblings with a team of horses at the young age of 12.

Allen met the love of his life, Vivian Choquette on July 31, 1956, and they married in a double ring ceremony with Vivian’s sister, Madeleine (Emil) on October 29, 1957. Very proud of the family farm, he and Vivian would spend their married life raising their family on the family homestead.

Allen worked in road construction in his young adult life, in the oil field, and then later as a welder. His true passion was farm life and working with animals. Allen loved his horses, cattle, and pigs. He also loved curling, playing hockey and baseball in his younger years. Allen would later become one of his children’s and grandchildren’s biggest fans cheering them on in their sports.

He was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Vivian; his parents William and Helen Schuster; and his twin siblings, Max, and Maxine. Allen is survived by his six children; Maurice, Butch, Denise (Brad) Mohr, Diane (Randy) Slough and Laurie; as well as one brother, Gary.

He is also survived by his grandchildren; Jenna and Marlee Schuster, Nikki (Taylor) Donison, Randi (Kyle) Mohr, Colton (Krista) Slough, Ryley Slough, Tegan (Kalcie) Slough, Danica (Lisa) Schuster, Avery (Mason) Sydor and Ayden Sydor; and his great-grandchildren, Brett, Jagger, Ava, and Zachary.

A Private Family Celebration will be held.
