HANNAH, Dorothy

1921 – 2023

It is with great sadness that the family of Dorothy Hannah announce her passing Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at the age of 101 years.

She was born to Louis and Florence Maria (Keough) Greff, on December 24, 1921.

She is lovingly remembered by grandchildren Blair Falconer, Allison Falconer (Saravanan Subramanian); great granddaughter Rayka Subramanian; son in law Barry Falconer; sister in law Helen Greff; and Chandral and Subramanian Guruswamy; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was predeceased by her parents Louis and Florence Greff; husband Robert Reginald (Rex) Hannah; daughter Gwendolyn June Falconer (Barry); brothers Edward, Harold (Edith), Leonard (Gwen), Charlie (Francis), Joseph Homer; and sister Helena (Andrew) Wingert.

Dorothy was raised on the family farm near Parry, SK until she met and married Rex. They farmed for many years west of Parry. While maintaining a beautiful farmyard, Dorothy always had a large garden, sharing it with her siblings. In addition, she put the garden produce to good use, preparing wonderful meals for family and visitors. She was also an excellent baker, housekeeper, and at harvest time, a truck driver hauling the grain. Regularly attending church, community group meetings and dances were very important staples in her life. In 1988 Dorothy and Rex farmed with Gwen and Barry near Wilcox and for several years went south in the winter.

In her last few years, Dorothy resided at Parkside Special Care Home where she received exceptionally kind, dignified support, and comfort.  Many thanks to all the staff throughout Parkside, especially on the South Wing, for your outstanding effort.
