Obituary of David John Wilson

It is with much love that we mourn the passing of David Wilson of Grenfell, SK, who passed away peacefully on May 3, 2023 at the age of 62 years from Cancer. He was predeceased by his father Lynall Wilson; granddaughter Madison Husson; and brother-in-law Garth Kalaman. David is survived by his daughters, Audrey McKinnon (Tryan), Alyson Wilson (Collin), Kathleen Wilson (Tyler); four grandchildren; his mother Myrna Wilson (Clem); siblings Rick Wilson (Shannon), Gail Hazzard (Greg) and Debbie Kalaman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dave was born on September 13, 1960 in Regina, SK. At a young age he developed a passion for woodworking which lasted his whole life, this included making furniture, toys for the grandkids and hand crafting a Lathe to further his creations. Dave could often be found working in his garage or enjoying a cold beer and wings. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, his most current one being a 1982 Honda Cruiser/Touring bike that he spent time rebuilding. You couldn’t miss Dave in a crowd, he always wore his work boots, a pair of jeans, his leather jacket and sunglasses, regardless of season. His daughters and family loved when he would make his signature large batch of spaghetti sauce.

Dave’s careers let him explore different paths, however he always chose one where he could work with his hands. From owning his own pizza restaurant, working for years as an irrigation expert, pothole and paving, and most recently working as a heavy duty mechanic at Westwind Parts & Service. Always dedicated and loyal, he rarely missed a day.
