BERKAN, Lynn

1951 – 2023

Isaiah 41:10: So, do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Lynn Berkan, age 71, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 1, 2023, after a brief illness.

Lynn will be dearly missed by her loving husband Allan; daughter Juliane (Jimmy) Farrell; daughter-in-law Kim Berkan; grandsons Joshua, Rhyder, Chase and Hunter Berkan; mom Kathleen Thomson; sister Dianne (Doug) Alderson; brother Jerry (Brenda) Hilderman; brothers- in-law Dale (Robin) Berkan, Terry (Holly) Berkan; sisters-in-law Donna Dynna, Meryl (Harry) Helgeson, Elaine (Leon) Scott, Cindy (Gary) Flutur; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and dear friends.

Predeceased by her son Trevor Berkan; father Reinhold Hilderman; parents-in-law Elmer and Irene Berkan and brother-in-law Glenn Dynna.

Lynn demonstrated her love for others by remembering you with that perfect and often hand-crafted card, noting the significant moment in other people’s lives, proudly claiming her title as Grandma Lynn and Aunty Lynn to her family and all the other special people around her. She served the Lord faithfully and was an active member of Southey Baptist Church.

She enjoyed cheering her Grandsons on in all their activities, baking, traveling, Sunday drives around the countryside, and sipping coffee on the farm in her favorite shady spot surrounded by flowers and watching the birds.

Lynn had a passion for bringing people together. She did this wholeheartedly in her immediate and extended family, her church fellowship friends and old classmates, the Southey Red Hats group and within the Govan, Southey, and area communities.

Giving all of herself to live life in the fullest Lynn embraced her role as a farmer’s wife, mother, grandma, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend. She will be deeply missed by everyone whose life she touched.
