Lilian Charlotte Belsey (nee Grant) passed away peacefully on June 7, 2023, at the age of 85. Lilian was born in Neilburg, SK in 1937 and grew up in Baldwinton and Cut Knife. She graduated from Teacher’s College in Saskatoon in 1956 and began her teaching career. Lilian married Glenn in 1960 and they built their home on Deergrove Crescent in Regina, where she lived for 55 years. After a 14-year break to raise her three daughters, Lilian earned her B.Ed and resumed her teaching career. She was a dedicated teacher, adapting her teaching to each child’s needs. Lilian was a calm, reliable mother who gave her daughters a stable base and the independence to thrive. Her time spent with her grandchildren was filled with outdoor activities, gardening, baking and crafts. Lilian greatly valued her friendships from her childhood, the Deergrove neighbourhood, teaching, and Whitmore Park United Church. Lilian was hardworking and uncomplaining. She was strong and independent. Always active, she didn’t waste a minute of her life.

Lilian was predeceased by her daughter Jill, husband Glenn, parents Ralph and Phyllis, and brother Charles. She will be dearly missed by her daughters Jodene and Alison; sons-in-law Joseph and Peter; grandchildren Jeannine (Alex), Roger, Lévi, Ashley (Kyle), Charlotte, Natalie, and Duncan; and great-grandchildren Morgan and Grayson.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Flowers are gratefully declined.
