Obituary of Charles David Kreps
It is with heavy hearts and sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Charles (Chuck) David Kreps at the Wascana Centre on Thursday June 22, 2023 at the age of 83 years.
Chuck was born at home in Kelliher, SK on March 21, 1940 to Jerry and Isabel Kreps. While growing up there he helped his Dad on the mink ranch. Chuck was active in the local sports of hockey, baseball and golf and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He moved to Regina in 1971 where he was involved with old-timers hockey. Throughout the beginning of his career Chuck worked in various lumberyards, he spent four years with Nelson homes, and then finished his career at Handyman/Prairieland Rental from 1987 until his retirement in 2007. He was a member of Deer Valley Golf course and marshalled there for four years after retirement. In 2004 Chuck married his best friend and love of his life, Louise Blunt in Regina. They enjoyed travelling to sun destinations like the Caribbean and Indonesia, but his favorite was his cabin at Etters Beach, SK. Most of all he enjoyed his fishing trips to northern Saskatchewan with his brother and fishing “buddies.”
Chuck was predeceased by his wife Louise in 2014; his mother Isabel Kreps in 1983; sister Sally Blight in 2002; father Jerry Kreps in 2007; and step-daughter Sandra Wilson in 2018. He leaves to mourn his son Blaine Kreps; grandchildren Candice and David Kreps; their mother Pam Kreps of Regina SK; stepson Darren Wilson of Virden MB; stepson Tim Blunt of Moose Jaw SK; brother Gary and Lukie Kreps of Regina SK; and sister Lenny Kreps of Calgary AB; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at unit 26 of the Wascana Centre for Chucks care the last 2.5 months. At Chucks request there will be no funeral. A family interment will be held at a later date in Elkhorn, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ducks Unlimited, 1030 Winnipeg St, Regina, SK S4R 8P8.
