Obituary of Marleine Joyce Hemmingson

HEMMINGSON (nee: Hawe), Marleine Joyce

September 13, 1933 – June 29, 2023

Marleine, Late of Regina, SK, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2023 at the age of 89 years.  She was predeceased by her parents Nick and Agnes and son-in-law Don. Marleine is survived by her husband, Larry; daughters Wendy of BC and Shelley of Regina; son Kevin of BC; grandchildren Jordan and Daniel, Alex and Shylo.

Marleine was born in Regina on September 13, 1933 where she lived all her growing up years, attending elementary school at Strathcona and then High School at Central High. Upon her grade 12 graduation, Marleine entered nurses training at the Regina General Hospital in 1955. In July of 1957 she married Larry Hemmingson at Carmichael United Church in Regina by Reverend Struthers.  Marleine was a nurse for 40 years prior to her retirement. She was so looking forward to retirement so she could have a relaxed cup of coffee in her beautiful backyard. Marleine loved gardening, big band music and was a wonderful dancer. She traveled lots throughout the years to various destinations, and her favorite place was Hawaii where she visited 11 times and was able to see every island! Marleine also enjoyed cruises. Family was most important to her.

A private family service will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, any family or friends so wishing may make donations, in memorium to the Canadian Mental Health Association,  500-250 Dundas St W, Toronto ON, M5T 2Z5.
