WEGNER, Reinhold “Ron”

1931 – 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ron on the evening of Thursday, June 29, 2023, at Yorkton Regional Health Centre.  Ron was a resident of “The Bentley” by Revera, in Yorkton, SK.  Ron was born in the Wolhynian region of Eastern Europe on September 26th, 1931.  He was the youngest son of Heinrich and Ottilia Wegner.  Once he immigrated to Canada in 1952,  he worked in various positions in Saskatchewan until settling in Regina, SK where he ran his own construction business until retirement.  In October 1954 he married Emilie Brehm and they were blessed with their only child Doris (Shank) in 1958.  Ron loved to garden and take care of their lovely home and yard.  Later in life he loved to travel the world with his love, Emilie.  His children, his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren meant the world to him.  Ron is survived by his daughter, Doris (Rene) Shank, grandchildren Morgan (Eli) Dingle and Adam (Stephanie) Shank; and great-grandchildren, Keira, Aria, Aston and Shelby.  The family would like to thank the staff at “The Bentley” for their love and care for Ron over the past 4 years.  They would also like to thank the staff at 3rd East and 1st East at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre for their kind and compassionate care in Ron’s last days.  A private family graveside service will be held.
