Obituary of Kathleen Lucille Delparte

With deepest sorrow we announce the passing of Kathleen Lucille Delparte of Regina, SK on July 5, 2023 at the Pasqua Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Kay was predeceased by her husband Donald; parents Clifford and Vesta; brother Robert; and son Brian. Kay will be forever remembered by her family, son Robert (Jackie); daughters Marie (Bob), and Donna (Rick); grandchildren Amanda, Chelsea, Brian, Mark, and Patrick; great-grandchildren Luke and Mazie; brothers Stuart and Archie; sisters Shirley, Jeannie and Margaret; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Kay was born and raised on a farm near Borden, SK, where she went to school, winning the Governor General’s Medal for academic excellence. She graduated from Saskatoon Normal School and taught elementary school in Saskatoon and Birsay. In 1958, Kay and Don got married and started their family in Saskatoon. After several years, they moved to Regina where she continued her career as an educator, sharing her passion for music. A lifelong learner, Kay returned to complete her B. Ed. at the University of Regina at the age of 50. Together, she and Don enjoyed playing golf, especially at the Wascana Country Club, where they were members. They shared wonderful memories of wintering in Phoenix, going on cruises, and competing at many bridge tournaments both becoming Bronze Masters. Waskesiu and Emma Lake were favourite places for summer holidays spent with family and friends. In 2018, Kay and Don celebrated 60 years of marriage together. She will be deeply missed by all for her kindness, generosity, and creativity.
A memorial service will take place at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. A private Interment will take place following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kay’s name may be made to the charity of your choice.
