Eden Denée Stevenson, age 21, passed away in a car accident near Redcliff, AB on Monday, July 31, 2023. She was born to Andrea and Brad Stevenson on March 19, 2002, in Swift Current, SK.

Eden leaves behind her mother Andrea Miller; father Brad Stevenson; bonus father Roger Miller; and bonus mother Melanie Stevenson. She also leaves behind her sisters, Jael Stevenson, Brittney Miller (Oliver Rodenhurst), and Alyssa Greenwood (Lane Greenwood) and their daughter Blakely Greenwood; brothers, Aaron Jake “AJ” Stevenson and Jared Stevenson; grandmother Brenda Tataryn; grandparents, Clifford and Teresa Stevenson; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Eden was predeceased by her grandfather Wayne Tataryn; and her brother Cody Miller.

Eden was raised in Swift Current, SK, attending St. Patrick’s Elementary School, St. Joseph Catholic Middle School, All Saints Catholic School, and continued her education at Swift Current Comprehensive High School. During her youth and into her high school career, Eden was an avid soccer player, dominating the fields from her position at mid-field. Although she was competitive on the field, off the field Eden was one of the kindest, most charismatic, people-loving individuals you would ever find, making friends everywhere she went and helping anyone in need. In her altruistic fashion, Eden was actively involved in the Southwest Mentorship Program.

Eden’s Grandma Teresa fondly remembers Eden proclaiming one day that she was going to be a “bad-ass” before she focused her energies on helping people for the rest of her life. And true to her word, she did have many adventures living her wildest life.

After her rumble with drugs and crime, Eden made the decision to attend Choose Life Ministry, where she finished her grade twelve, got her driver’s license, completed Freedom Session, and completed a finance course all within only six short months. Upon her graduation of Choose Life Ministry, Eden returned home to Swift Current where she started working at Sign Here Signs.

Eden met the love of her life, Ross Ginter, in late 2021. Ross and Eden built their life together supporting each other through many challenges. In August 2022, Eden and Ross made the decision to leave their life of addiction behind. They started their new life in Medicine Hat, AB, where she upgraded her classes and got accepted into the Care Aid Program at Medicine Hat College, while working full time at Co-op Deli.

Celebration of Eden’s Life will held at Eastside Church of God, 2105 Adams Street, Swift Current, SK on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. The service will be livestreamed. Donations in Eden’s name may be made to Choose Life Ministry, P.O. Box 426, Carnduff, SK S0C 0S0 or click here to donate online.
