Arnold Graham

Obituary of Arnold Rowland Graham

It is with much sadness that we announce that Arnold passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Wednesday, August 2, 2023.  He was predeceased by his parents, Evelyn and Cecil and his son Gordon in 2005.  Arnold is survived by his wife of 62 years, Phyllis; three sons Gary (Bonnie), Cory (Connie) and Gerald (Chelsea), whose help and love have been invaluable; grandchildren Travis (Arianne) Graham, Tasha (Rory) Forsythe, Dustin Graham; and seven great-grandchildren Tucker, Aubrey, Emmett, twins Owen and Riley, and Kacey, as well as his step-grandson Ty Lawrence and his step-great-grandson Kaden Forsythe.  Arnold was born and raised in Regina, where he spent his entire life.  He worked for CP Rail as a coal man and at Saskpower (which is the current Imax Theatre) and he retired as steam engineer at the heating plant behind the Legislative Building.  Arnold met Phyllis at the hospital when she was his nurse.  Story has it that he got her in trouble many times for kicking the sheets out at the end of the bed and so began their relationship.  Arnold loved his family dearly. He spent a lot of time doing woodwork and many of his creations can be found around the yard. Arnold spent much time reading about the World Wars, bike riding, aquasizing and bowling.  He spent his holidays travelling from coast to coast and especially enjoyed his time at National Bowling tournaments held in PEI and Whitehorse in the Yukon.  Arnold had a great sense of humor and it really defined him. He loved to laugh and make jokes.  Arnold will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank Dr. P. Van Rooyen, Dr. Alport and staff on 3D at the Pasqua Hospital and Grace Hospice for the compassion, kindness and exceptional care provided to Arnold and the family through such a quick and difficult transition. A graveside service for family and friends will be held at a later date. Full details will be announced in a future edition of the Leader-Post. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Arnold’s memory to the Allan Blair Cancer Centre, 4101 Dewdney Ave, Regina, SK, S4T 1T1.
