Obituary of Marie Carmel Juliette Vargo
The family of Julie Vargo are saddened to announce that their mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother was taken to the Lord peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at the age of 86 years.
Julie was predeceased by her parents, Louis, and Rose-Anna Balaux; sisters Jeanne, Aurelie, Evelyn, Marie, Lorraine, Noella, Ghislaine; brothers Andrew, and David; husband Robert Vargo; son Wesley; and first husband Wesley McKillop.
Julie leaves to mourn her remaining siblings, sister Louise; and brothers Guy (Sylvia), Marcel (Ona Mae), and Gilles. She is also survived by her children, Brenda (Clayton), Glen (Laura), and Kim (Rollie). She enjoyed seven grandchildren Jeremy (Jenn), Joseph (Ashley), Michael (Tara), Christina, Tyler (Kristina), Nikki (Matt), and Kyle. Julie was lovingly known as “GG” by her eleven great-grandchildren William (Brianna), Devin, Lannah, Joseph, Hailey-Brooke, Zack, Parker, Gunnar, Isabella, Sullivan, and Lena. She had several nieces and nephews, many of which still stayed in close contact with their aunt. She also had seven stepchildren and ten grandchildren from her late husband, Robert.
Julie lived most of her adult life in Regina, SK, working with her husband, Wesley McKillop in the construction business while raising their family of four children. She later worked several years in the hospitality industry, while enjoying many years travelling with Bob, including winters in Las Vegas. Julie enjoyed quilting, walking, going to the Casino, garage sales and bake sales. She will be fondly remembered and missed by those who loved her.
A Memorial Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice in Julie’s memory.
