Obituary of Rein Algera

REIN ALGERA Rein, late of Regina, SK passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at the age of 84 years. He was born in Leeuwarden, Netherlands on May 17, 1930 and immigrated to Canada in 1952 settling in Regina. Rein spent most of his professional career working for SaskPower. He was predeceased by his parents; wife Vicki; sister Thea; and sons, Barry and Glenn. Rein is survived by his sister Rieke (Cees) Severijn; son Robert; daughter Cheryl (Jim) Maier; daughter-in-law Lorraine; three grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Rein was a prize winning horticulturalist, a lifelong fan of Dutch football and amateur historian with a special interest in WWII. As per the family’s wishes, a private family service will be held.
