Obituary of Mea Sun Tuey Hom

MEA SUN TUEY HOM April 7, 1925 - August 25, 2014 On Monday, August 25, 2014 surrounded by family, our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away. Predeceased by her father and mother, Henry and Jane Yee; husband Jim Hong Tao Hom; daughter Martha On Len Jong; and brother Jim Yee. She will be forever remembered and cherished by her children, Magdalen (Joe) Dang of Regina, Tom (Anne) Hom of Regina, Theresa (Bill) Yee of Langley, Steve (Sue-Lynn) Hom of Regina, Grace (Brad) Tilling of Regina, (Harry) Jong of Denver; fifteen grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. Mea was a strong, gentle woman full of love, kindness, and compassion for her family and friends with a special place in her heart for the longevity and happiness of her family. In her prime, Mea was a talented storyteller and writer. She was an expert tailor and enjoyed knitting and crocheting many precious items for her family. Mea was a well-known baker and cook amongst family and friends. No one left her table hungry. The family expresses heartfelt thanks to Dr. Mieske and the medical personnel at the Regina General Hospital. A Prayer Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Friday, August 29, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church, 1701 Cowan Crescent, Regina, SK on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Gary Lindenbach, celebrant.
