Obituary of Nixon Ethan Lawson

Nixon Lawson December 16, 2011 - August 24, 2014 On Sunday, August 24, 2014 at 4:14pm, Nixon Ethan Lawson passed away peacefully in the arms of his mother with his father at his side. Nixon was two years old. The final days of his life were spent surrounded by his loving parents, grandma and grandpa Joe and papa and bubba Lawson. Although Nixon's life would seem too short to many, those who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. Nixon's contagious smile and laugh could melt the hearts of those around him and though he had his own way of communicating, his beautiful blue eyes and expressions could always be felt. While Nixon's illness gave him limitations and made him very frail at times, he never gave up and continued to show strength and courage which never seized to amaze ones around him. Nixon refused to give up the fight. With his great courage, he led us to believe that each day was a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories. Nixon spent hours rocking and cuddling with the ones he loved most. He loved his cartoons and listening to his favourite song (Wagon Wheel). He loved the outside and had many favourite books. We would like to thank all the hospital staff that had the opportunity to care for our precious lil boy and felt the love he had to offer. (Regina General Hospital, Saskatchewan Air Ambulance, Royal University Hospital, Stollery Children's Hospital, Alberta Children's Hospital, Duke University Hospital) With Nixon's passing, we want his life to be remembered and celebrated by all of his family and friends. Although he will be missed deeply every minute of every day, he will be forever in our hearts. Nixon is survived by his loving parents Shantal Ecarnot and Cole Lawson, grandparents Bob and Gail Lawson, Joe and Adelle Ecarnot, uncles and aunts Tasha (Michael) Wurm, Nicole (Tyler) Perkins, Corey Ecarnot, cousins Tyson, Alexis, Alex, and Beckett, great grandmas Ellen Farago and Kay Runge (Gord Hamblin). Nixon also had many little buddies, family and friends who loved him very dearly. A memorial service will be held at the Holy Family Church, 1021 McCarthy Blvd. N. on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at 1:00pm. A collation will follow the service.
