Obituary of Eleanor Saal

ELEANOR SAAL September 20, 1926 – September 2, 2014 Eleanor passed away peacefully at Courtesy Care Home in Regina at the age of 87 years. She was predeceased by her parents, Chris and Georgina Ray; husband Roy in 1992; sisters, Ruth and Fay; brothers, Colin and Osborne; and son-in-law Mike Benoit. Eleanor is survived by her children: son Ron (Karen) and their girls, Colleen (Rick) and their family Dustin and his daughter Saleena, Kelsie and Dakota, Kayla (Paul) and their family Connor, Taven and Hunter; daughter Debbie and her children Darcie (Bryan) and Andy (Erin); daughter Linda and her daughter Vicki (Doug) and their children Grayson and Harper; and sister-in-law Ellie Ray. Eleanor was born in Eatonia and spent most of her childhood in the Ardill/Mossbank area. While living in Saskatoon, she worked as a waitress at Smitty’s lunch counter at Five Corners. One of her favorite customers was Roy Saal, an agriculture student at the University of Saskatchewan. Roy and Eleanor married on September 28, 1949 and farmed many years in the Rouleau area. They enjoyed many winters in Mesa, Arizona. Friends and family always played an important part in Eleanor’s life and she treasured these happy times. She moved to Regina in 2000 and lived at Regina Lutheran Home, then moved into a private care home for the past couple of years where she was lovingly cared for by her angels, Angelita and Willy Ibon. The Funeral Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. Interment in Regina Memorial Gardens. Flowers most gratefully declined. Friends so wishing may make a donation in memory of Eleanor to a charity of your choice.
