Obituary of Nolene Grace Brown

NOLENE GRACE BROWN “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” Ecclesiastes 3:1. Nolene, born October 22, 1920 to Milford and Lauretta Brown, passed away on Monday, September 15, 2014, aged 94 years. She was a life-long citizen of Regina and faithful member of the congregation of Knox-Metropolitan United Church. Loyal friend and proud graduate of the Regina General Hospital School of Nursing, Nolene was a nurse in Regina for all of her long working life, including many years in the medical practice of her close friend and mentor, Dr. H. Hopkins. She was predeceased by her parents; and only sister, Dorothy Thelma Mills; as well as her dearest life-long friend, Dorothy Moore. She is survived by and was a dear sister-in-law to Barry Mills of Calgary, AB; beloved Auntie Nonie to, Ken Mills (Michelle) of Calgary, AB, Shelley Lester (Terry) of Angus, ON, and Rob Mills of Calgary, AB, as well as their families, including great-nephew Mackenzie Mills and great-nieces Lauren Mills Taylor (Michael Taylor), Jacqueline Martineau (Chris and Emma), Barbra Lester (Chris, Tyson, Alexis and Owen), and Krista and Shayla Mills (and their mother Eva). Rest in peace Auntie Nonie, we will love and miss you always. The Funeral Service will be held at Knox-Metropolitan United Church, 2340 Victoria Avenue, Regina, SK on Thursday, September 25, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Robert A. Kitchen presiding. Private family burial. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Nolene may be made to Knox-Metropolitan United Church, 2340 Victoria Avenue, Regina, SK, S4P 0S6 or to a charity of your choice.
