Obituary of Helen Doreen Moisiuk

HELEN DOREEN MOISIUK (née Lauder) On Friday, September 26, 2014, Helen passed away peacefully at the Cupar and District Nursing Home, with her son by her side, at the age of 83 years. She grew up on the family farm near Craven, SK and attended nursing school in Regina, SK. Helen married her husband, Nick, on August 1, 1953 and they had three sons. Her nursing career took Helen and her family to California and Arkansas and she returned to Regina upon retirement. She was predeceased by her parents, Jack and Mary Lauder; husband Nick Moisiuk; son Geof Moisiuk; grandson Colby Moisiuk; niece Lynda Mae Lauder; and companion Jerry O’Connor. Helen is survived by her sons, Greg (Michelle) and Rob Moisiuk; daughter-in-law Julie Johnson; grandchildren, Sara (Justin), Meaghan, Nick (Ashley) and Tyler; great-grandchildren, Emmalyn and Abby; brother Bob (Dee) Lauder; sister-in-law Shirley Lauder; niece Jo Anne Lauder; and extended family Yvonne and Larry Hahn, Sherri Doell, and friends. Thank you to the nurses and staff at the Cupar and District Nursing Home for the care and compassion they gave Helen during her stay. A family Memorial Service and interment will take place on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at the St. Nicholas Kennell Church near Craven. Flowers are gratefully declined.
