This is rather late, but I've only just found this site. I just wanted to say that Anna Kovacs was a wonderful long term friend to my mother, and so kind to our family. Mum and Anna met as 'mature age' students of nursing at the Royal Melbourne hospital (Australia) in the 1950s, and had been friends ever since. Of course we didn't see her and Martin much after they moved to Canada, but Mum and Anna wrote letters until Anna couldn't write any more. The last time Mum heard was from a lovely lady who had helped care for Anna. She replied to a letter of Mum's that had arrived just after Anna's death. We are thankful to her, but I don't know her name as Mum died six months later and I don't know where that letter is. Thankyou anyway. Anna was a kind and loving very special friend to my mum, June Hayward.

Mrs Anna Kovacs was a dear and special woman. I knew her very well. I worked for her husband Dr Martin L Kovacs as a research assistant in prairie Hungarian studies for eleven years, and after his retirement, the work was quite often done at their house and I would dine with them. I recall that she frequently made this incredible Hungarian cheesecake unlike any I've ever had before or since. Both Kovacses were wonderful, cultured, gracious people, and I could tell they were completely devoted to each other. I miss them more than I can say.
