Obituary of Jessie "Dorothy" Harnett

Dorothy passed away peacefully on October 11, 2014. Dorothy is predeceased by her parents Claude and Elsie Barnes and by her husband Fred. She is survived by her children Fred (Sandra), Greg, Colleen (Brad) Carey, Ross (Joanne), Don (Colleen); nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and two sisters, Rae Penny and Bea Elmgren. Dorothy was a charter member of the Beta Sigma Phi and was honored when many of the members were able to help celebrate her 90th Birthday this past February, along with many family and friends. Dorothy moved back to Regina after Fred’s passing and continued to enjoy travelling, spending time at family cottages, making new friends at Marion Chateau and Wintergreen, but most of all she was a dedicated mother, grandmother and great grandmother to her family. We will miss her dearly. She will forever be in our hearts and memories. A Celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held at Sunset United Church, 177 Sunset Drive, Regina, SK on Wednesday October 15, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends so wishing may make a donation in Dorothy’s memory to The Children’s Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan, 345- 3 Avenue South #1, Saskatoon, SK. S7K 1M6, or to the charity of your choice. A private Graveside service will take place in B.C. at a later date.
