She will be lovingly missed and remembered by her son Alexander (Nancy nee Moser) of Ottawa; grandson Shawn (Christina nee Seyler) of Ottawa and great grandsons Hamish and Willem; brother-in-laws Raymond (Mavis) of Kimberley B.C., Lawson (Rena) of Kimberley B.C., Donald of Courtney B.C.; niece Jodee (nee Angott) Stewart and family of Winnipeg; nephew Joel Angott and family of Winnipeg; niece Rhona McNiven (Robin Gozzola) and family of Calgary, niece Patricia (Patrick) McKenna (nee McNiven) and family of Edmonton; cousin and dear friend Nina Grudnizki of Regina; caring friends Jim and Marilyn Paisley and family of Regina; good friend Rachelle McIntyre of Regina; and the many friends she and John had made throughout their long life together. Patricia attended Holy Rosary School and Sacred Heart Academy in Regina. After graduation she worked in her father’s family business Regina Victory (Hudson) Motors in Regina before joining the Imperial Oil Company’s Regina office in the early 1950’s. When the company moved its Regina operations to Edmonton in the 1960’s, she declined their offer of a transfer and promotion preferring to remain in Regina. Following her career at Imperial Oil, Patricia successfully operated her own business, Crystal Enterprises, the Vanda-Beauty Counsellor franchise for Southern Saskatchewan for many years. Patricia and John spent many summers at their summer home at Wasa Lake B.C which they had built themselves enjoying the scenic beauty of the famous mountain lake in the Kootenay. They also loved to visit Alex, Nancy and Shawn in Ottawa at Christmas or when he was posted to Canadian embassies in Paris France, Kingston Jamaica and Jakarta Indonesia by the Department of Foreign Affairs, exploring Western Europe, the United Kingdom and Ireland, the small towns of rural Jamaica, Australia and the islands of Indonesia. For many years, Patricia was keenly involved in politics at the provincial and federal levels and worked tirelessly promoting Regina and Saskatchewan. She was a life-long member of the Liberal Party and attended many national and provincial conferences and events. Patricia touched many peoples’ lives both personally and professionally. She made many friends over the years and they rallied around her when her husband John passed away last year, visiting her frequently in the family home until she was hospitalized several weeks ago. Her family was always very important to her and she kept in constant touch with her son Alex and his family, her late brother Patrick and his family and John’s brothers and all their wonderful families. Her great grandsons Hamish and Willem were a pride and joy for her and she looked forward to organizing face time with them in Ottawa. We will dearly miss you and we know that everyone else who knew will as well. Thank you for all the beautiful memories when we were together. May God care for you as you cared for all of us. The family would like to extend their sincerest appreciation to the warm and caring nursing teams at the Grace Hospice, Ward 6F General Hospital and the CSU Pasqua Hospital. A Funeral Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 with interment at the Regina Cemetery.
