Remembering Rebekah on her birthday. She always had our 'B'days' written on the calendar and it was all about the food. In honor of her potentiality had she found peace and survived. Thanks that she suffers no more. With loving memories, Yvet

Rebekah was visiting the Kootenays when I met her. She held a unique worldview and had a generous spirit. We moved to Saskatchewan together with Zack, the dog.
In Regina, Rebekah acquired her Red Seal in Carpentry. She was one of very few women to do so. She enjoyed growing food and created some stunning gardens with peas and beans strung up high on various structures like an umbrella clothes line. She was a landlord's dream, able to fix anything. Rebekah loved to make others laugh and was full of dreams for the future.
She was long challenged by illness and died far too young to be able to make sense of it. Loving and missing you Bek.

I just found out Rebekah had died. This is so sad. She was so much larger than life, such a character, and had such potential. I first met her in Kitchener Ontario when she was just finding her way into the women's community. We used to hang out quite a bit and i think i was probably a bit of a mentor to her. One thing we really loved to do was go to restaurants, especially the Szechuan restaurant in Waterloo and stuff our faces with delicious inexpensive food!
She came out to the Kootenays in BC a couple of times after I moved back here. The last time was several years ago and somehow we didn't really connect any more very much. I could see she was a troubled woman but I didn't realize how troubled she was and I am very sad she died so young. Love you, Bekah.

I just heard about Rebekah's death. It is hard to believe that someone so full of life is gone. I now live in one of the houses that she lived in while in Ontario, and I think of her every time I do something handy around the place (or in my case, unlike Rebekah, not-so-handy): her laugh, her brashness, her humour, the storms that seemed to spontaneously erupt around her. She is missed. My sincere condolences to her family and loved ones.

Becky was never too shy to speak her mind. She was very independent and her determination to travel the perimeter of the United States alone and picking up jobs to buy gas really amazed me. She enjoyed humor and I have a lot of memories. I remember the time she put a garbage bag in the fireplace (by accident) and Jerry Cozma stood with his back close to the fire to get warm and a aerosal can exploded. I never seen someone jump so far.
Sadly Missed

The first time I met Rebekah was early one morning in the elevator of the condo complex that I had recently moved into. Rebekah was heading to the bus stop in order to catch a bus to her work. I was heading to the gym and had a car so I offered her a ride. She gratefully accepted and although I did not know it at the time, that ride was the start of an amazing friendship. I believe there are two types of friends in this world. Ones that you immediately click with and share much in common and then there are the ones who are so vastly different that they challenge you in every way and make you learn and grow. Rebekah was a friend who was vastly different and at first I was unsure of how to proceed with this unique woman who lived down the hall from me. Over the years of our friendship Rebekah taught me many lessons. She showed me what the words generosity, loyalty, and gratitude really mean. I am truly a better person for having had her in my life and I miss her fiercely.

Your sense of humour and laugh was infectious, there was never a time we spent together that you didn't have me laughing! I will always remember the time we had and all of your silly songs you taught me. You will be greatly missed!

My Becky
She was energetic as a girl, adventurous and always singing songs. She was well educated and made friends easily, witty, loved children and kind to animals. She was proud to have her own condo and privacy. She remained positive to the end.

I came to know Rebekah because she was a fellow resident in our complex. I always enjoyed her company. She had a great sense of humour but when the need arose, she could be a brave defender of her own rights and those of others. Her generousity was appreciated in so many ways and her smile was always warm and friendly.
I think of her often and am sure that she is resting in peace now.
