MARY C. Mary is survived by her loving husband Don of 57 years; her sons, Gordon (Patty) of Akron, Ohio, Greg (Mindy) of San Jose del Cabo, Mexico; daughter Anne Mayer of Calgary, Alberta; and her seven cherished grandchildren, Rachel (Trey) and great-grandson Nolan, Danielle and Matthew, Lindsay and Nicole, and Scott and Graham. She is also survived by her sister Joan (Al) Schwinghamer of Moose Jaw; brother-in-law Hershel (Fergy) Ferguson of Winnipeg; Don’s sister-in-law Lenore (Nibby) Bennett of Alameda; and many nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her parents, Alexander and Amy McRae, sister Irene Ferguson; Don’s parents, Walter and Doris Bennett; and brother-in-law Morley Bennett. Mary graduated as a Registered X-Ray Technician at Saskatoon City Hospital in 1955. She met Don on a blind date in early 1956 and they were married in September 1957, moving to Marquis, SK where Don was employed. Mary retrained in X-Ray in 1970. A few years later, in 1976, she started Diagnostic Ultrasound at the Regina General Hospital, becoming a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer and worked as a Supervisor and Clinical Instructor until 1995, when she took an early retirement. Mary’s many interests included curling, membership at the Wascana Golf and Country Club, sewing and her time spent at the cottage at Kenosee Lake for over twenty years. She was a member of the Wa Wa Ladies Auxiliary, IODE and Sunset United Church. Mary enjoyed following many sporting events, including the Saskatchewan Roughriders, as a season ticket holder for several years. She loved her computer and all her email buddies. She found the computer to be a great connection with family. Mary and Don enjoyed many winter vacations in Hawaii and later, Palm Springs. A celebration of Mary’s life will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. with Kathy Platt officiating.
