Obituary of Margaret Patricia Biggart

MARGARET BIGGART Margaret Patricia (Peg) Biggart, born in Saskatoon on May 3, 1918, and passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 9, 2014. She was predeceased by her parents, Margaret (nee Paterson) and Laurence (Larry) Naismith, her husband, Archibald Hugh (Rusty) on January 25, 2001 and all five of Rusty’s siblings and spouses. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Ann (Patti) Peterson; granddaughter, Lee Anne Potter (Rowland Fitch); great grandchildren, Jasmine Lee Potter (Derek Griffith) and their daughter, Tia; and Christopher William Potter (Emmy Young); and numerous nieces and nephews. Peg grew up in Rosetown and after graduation moved to Regina to attend Balfour Commercial and Reliance Business Schools. She then worked in the Education, Agriculture, and Health Departments of the Provincial Government until her retirement on May 31, 1978. Peg had a multitude of involvements and interests - Sunday school teacher and C.G.I.T. Leader at Knox-Metropolitan United Church, Y.W.C.A., Regina Public Library Outreach Services Board, the Wascana Golf Club, Regina Horticultural and Gladiola Societies, Regina Little Theatre, Globe Theatre, Saskatchewan Express, Regina Musical Club, Regina Jazz Club, U of R Cougars basketball team, U of R swimming, and several different university courses over many years. The family would like to thank the incredible staff of Unit 2-6, Wascana Rehabilitation Centre, for the loving and compassionate care they gave to Peg; and our thanks as well to the recreation therapists for their variety of programs to brighten her days. At Peg’s request, no funeral service will be held. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre, 2180 – 23rd Avenue, Regina, SK S4S 0A5, the Regina Humane Society, P.O. Box 3143 Stn Main, Regina, SK S4P 3G7, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
