Obituary of Elsie Schmiedge

ELSIE SCHMIEDGE It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Elsie Schmiedge (nee Hack) on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at the age of 83. Elsie was born in Spring Valley on November 13, 1931. She worked at the Union Hospital in Moose Jaw in the early 50’s and then married William in 1957. They farmed at Dilke, Saskatchewan and then moved to Regina in 1963. She was predeceased by her father Christian, mother Frieda (nee Ast), brother Godfried, sister and brother-in-law Christina and Bob Yuke, brother and sister-in-law Arthur and Marion Hack, and brother Ernie. She was also predeceased by her loving husband William and great-grandson Tyler Puetz. Elsie leaves to mourn her passing, her daughter Judy (Les) Powers, son Dean (Margot) Schmiedge and daughter Diann (Brent) Heinitz. Also mourning her loss are her grandchildren, Gail (Shawn) Stapleton, Kelly (James) Puetz, Travis (Sarah) Heinitz, Leah (Randy) Cseh, Kyla (Derrick) Ehrmantraut, Kendra Heinitz (Brent Doepker), Tara Schmiedge, Erica Schmiedge and Jordan Heinitz, as well as three great-grandchildren, Indiana, Tahiti and Brayden. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including two sister-in-laws of Moose Jaw, Emily and Pauline Hack. Memorial Service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, Regina on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Flowers most gratefully declined.
