Obituary of Gordon Lyall Healey

Gordon passed away at the age of 55 years on Sunday, December 14, 2014. He was predeceased by his father George in 1979 and by his nephew Scott McLeod in 2004. Gordon is survived in Regina by his mother Mildred; stepfather Ron Peakman; sister Georgene (Jim McLeod) and in Kingston by his brother Greg Healey (Sylvia). Uncle Gordon is cherished in Regina by Andra Donbrook; in Halifax by Shawn McLeod; and in Iqaluit by Gwen Healey and Colleen Healey. Gordon lived in the details - he loved collecting information. He was a fanatic about most sports, especially the NHL and CFL. The Canadiens and the Riders were his favourites. Gordon would tell you any statistic you could possibly imagine. He was also very interested in the Second World War as well as the history of the Anglican Church in Canada. Gordon spent countless hours in libraries doing his research, deriving great joy sharing his findings with everyone. Gordon spent his entire life in Regina. He enjoyed his apartment, his cat Leonardo and his supportive friends. He was kind and loyal, had a wonderful sense of humour, and discovered happiness in television, radio, music, and the rich world of books. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Paul’s Anglican Cathedral, 1861 McIntyre Street, Regina, SK on Friday, December 19, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. Those wishing to further celebrate Gordon’s life may choose to make a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 279 3rd Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H8 or to the Regina Humane Society, P.O.
