Obituary of Maureen Matkin

MAUREEN MATKIN Maureen passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2015. She was predeceased by her husband Max; parents, Withold and Zofia Galecki; four brothers, Edmund, Ted and two in infancy; and four sisters, Phylis, Angelia, Irene and Selma. Maureen is lovingly remembered by her son Brian; sister Elsie Theobald; brother Henry “Hank” (Betty); and numerous nieces and nephews. Maureen was born in Poland and raised in Henriburg, SK. After leaving school in Henriburg, she attended business college in Toronto, where she also modelled. In 1963, Maureen and Max were married. They later ran a monument business together in Regina. Maureen was a very faithful Christian and was filled with her love for the Lord. Later in life she was very involved in Christian ministries and sharing the gospel. A Celebration of Maureen’s Life will take place at the Regina Apostolic Church, 808 Assiniboine Avenue East, on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Maureen can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 279-3rd Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK, S7K 2H8.
