Obituary of John Edward McIntyre

John Edward McIntyre late of Regina, SK. passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at the age of 49. Predeceased by his parents Alex and Olga, John is survived by his sister Anna; his fur-baby Casper; aunts; uncles; cousins and long-time friends Darcy A and Jeff B. Over the course of John's short life, he had many interests. As a child, John was into hockey and chess, excelling at both. In later years he also took up touch football, both playing and coaching adult and kids' leagues. Right up to the end, John was active with Regina Chess, holding league nights and tournaments, Chessnuts Camp and a City of Regina summer Chess program in the park. John had a great love for the game of poker, and he enjoyed getting together weekly with friends at the Casino. We would like to say a special Thank you to all the doctors, nurses, and home care teams for all the exceptional care and compassion given to John over the years. Flowers most gratefully declined.
