Elsie Wilson

Obituary of Elsie Norlene Wilson

Our beloved Mother passed away peacefully with family by her side on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at the age of 91 years. Predeceased by her loving husband John “Jack” 2003; siblings Monta, Jean, Albert, Meta, Hugh and Don. Elsie is survived by sons Dick (Linda) and their children Suzanne (Jamie), Doug (Terra), and Cindy; Mike (Trish) and their children Meighan (Darrow), and Erin (Greg); Brad (Twila) and their children Kelsie, Scott (Natasha); Gary; Greg (Gaye) and their children Stacey, Angela (Blair), Stephen (Tiera), and Michele; great-grandchildren Jordan, Justin, Emma, Jesse, Jett, Logan, Kayli, Kale, Calder, Jack, and Zoey; siblings Glenn (Claire), Llewelyn, and Ken (Shirley); as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and special cousin Rhoda. Mom was born on the farm at Antler, Sask, one of ten children to Stewart and Annie Machan. Mom met dad at the Redvers Railway Station when dad arrived home from the war. They were married in 1945 and after having five boys moved to Regina in 1952. Money was always scarce in the early days but we never felt deprived. Our home was often the gathering place for relatives and friends. It was a place that always promised delicious home cooked meals, great company and genuinely warm hospitality. After dad passed, mom moved to the Marion Chateau where she enjoyed the camaraderie of new friends and planned activities. Our family extends appreciation to Dr. Bester and his receptionist Shirley; Barry, Daphne and all staff at the Marion Chateau; Nurse Sherell and the Nursing Staff at the General Hospital 3E. A private family service will be held at a later date. Interment will be in Riverside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, those so wishing, may make a donation in Mom's memory to the charity of their choice.
