Obituary of Irene Helen Desnomie

IRENE HELEN DESNOMIE (nee Nokusis) Irene, late of Regina SK passed away peacefully surrounded by family at home on Friday, January 16, 2015 at the age of 83 years. Predeceased by husband Francis Desnomie Sr.; parents Alex and Maggie Nokusis; siblings, Maurice, Archibald (Claudette), Patrick/Porgie, Richard/John Brown, Ronnie Waniska, Mildred (Marius) Chartrand, Marion (Raymond) Starr, Gladys (Louis) Blacksioux, Anne (Bill) Yuzicappi, and two brothers in infancy, Irene is survived by eight sons, Arthur, Harry, Claude (Marla), Francis, Craig, Roy, Douglas, Warren (Cindy); one daughter, Dorothy (Delbert); adopted brother Mickey Yuzicappi; brother-in-law Lionel (Tina) Desnomie and sister-in-law Marina (Leslie) Sanderson; and special nieces, Grace, Monique, Dale, Lucy, Roberta and the Blacksioux girls, and numerous nieces and nephews; special friends Suzie Desnomie and Florence Desnomie; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Wake will be held on Monday, January 19, 2015 at her family home on Peepeekisis Cree Nation at 4:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Mary Immaculate R.C. Church, Peepeekisis Cree Nation on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Officiating Elder Lindsay Starr and Catholic service officiated by Rev. John Meehan, S.J. and Sister Bernadette Feist.
