Obituary of James 'Scottie' Edward Allan Nicolson

James Edward Allan Nicolson (aka Scottie, Nic, Jim) It is with deep sorrow that the family of Scottie Nicolson announce his passing on January 16, 2015, at Regina General Hospital. Scottie was born February 28, 1937 on the farm south of Semans SK. He always said he was born under his Aunt Jean’s bed. He was predeceased by his dad Jimmie; mom Hazel; stepmother Grace; and sister-in-law Martha. Left to mourn his passing, are: his son Brad (Carol), grandson Barry (Roxanne), great granddaughter Autumn, great grandson Jace, and granddaughter Melissa (Kyle); daughter Angela, and Jean, the mother of his children, all of Calgary. He also leaves his brother George (Elsie) of Hinton AB; brother Jack of Raymore SK; and sister Marian of Regina; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Scottie attended the small country schools of Llanwenarth and Highclere until grade ten, and then attended Raymore High School. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1959 and trained as an Electrician. He retired from the Navy in 1977. He then spent five years as a Commissionaire at the radar base at Alsask. Cremation and interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Scottie’s name, to Silver Heights Care Home, Box 549, Raymore SK, S0A 3J0, to The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 001, 1820 Cornwall Street, Regina SK S4P 2K2, or to a charity of choice.
