Obituary of Esther Elaine Sundeen

ESTHER ELAINE SUNDEEN (nee Forsman) Esther Elaine Sundeen (nee Forsman) entered into the presence of her Lord on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at the age of 87 years. Predeceased by the love of her life, Paul in 1986, Esther leaves to cherish her memory four children, Linda (James) Holmlund, Miles (Jolene & her son Brock), Neil (Alison) and Glenn. Esther has five grandchildren: Arwen, Mark and Eric Holmlund, Jeremy (Joni) Sundeen and Alysia (Scott) Pletz. Also included in her clan are five great-grandchildren, Aubrie, Kolter, Lily, Bella and Ryker. Esther was born on the family farm near Strasbourg on October 2, 1927 and was a child of the great depression being no stranger to hardship and hard work. Her childhood was spent helping in sustaining the family farm, school and a strong fellowship at East Mount Baptist Church. She moved to Regina in 1946 and married Paul Sundeen in 1950. Along with raising their family together, they were founding members of Argyle Road Baptist Church and were instrumental in establishing Katepwa Baptist Kamp. Moving to the farm in 1973, Esther tirelessly supported her family by keeping an acre-sized garden, sewing, and cooking endless meals. She selflessly gave of her gift of hospitality, cooking for and entertaining large gatherings of both family and friends. After losing Paul, she moved back to the city where she resided until her passing. Sincere thanks to the staff at Broadway Terrace, where she lived for several years as well as the team on 5A Regina General Hospital who cared for her. Special thanks, as well, for the extraordinary care she received in the final leg of her journey from the team at Regina Wascana Grace Hospice. A Celebration of Esther’s Life will take place at Argyle Baptist Church, 3510 Argyle Road, on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Argyle Road Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 3510 Argyle Road, Regina, SK, S4S 2B8 would be appreciated.
