Obituary of Nicholas Sebastian Ell

On Sunday, March 15, 2015, Nicholas Sebastian Ell passed away peacefully at the Regina General Hospital with his family at his side at the age of 95 years. Nicholas was predeceased by daughter Barbara Ann; mother Barbara and father Charles; sisters Mary, Katherine and Wilhelmina and brother Richard. He is survived by his wife Victoria; two sons and one daughter; Wayne (Darcy) of Calgary, Cheryl (Bob) of Red Deer and Darrell (Kelly) of Surrey BC as well as brothers John, Carl (Jean), Edward (Pam), Leo (Helen) and Robert (Ellie). Nick is also survived by five grandchildren; Kelcie (Wayne) of Calgary, Madison and Mikaela (Cheryl) of Red Deer, Ryan and Stephanie (Darrell) of Surrey BC and great grandson Damien (Kelcie) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Nick was born in Holdfast Saskatchewan Dec 29, 1919. He worked on the family farm before entering the army. Following the war he returned to the farm and later owned the locker plant in Holdfast. Nick married Victoria (Bank) November 19, 1956. Most of his career was with the Federal Government as a meat inspector. In that role the family moved to Regina, Prince Albert and finally Moose Jaw where he retired. Nick was an avid golfer and volunteered in the community as an umpire in amateur baseball for many years. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at Christ the King Roman Catholic Church, 3239 Garnet Street, Regina (south of Hill Ave. on Garnet Street), on Friday March 20, 2015 at 10 a.m. with Father Sathiadas Antony, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery in Moose Jaw. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. .
