MARGARET ANNE NICOLSON
It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Margaret Anne Nicolson. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at the age of 93 years. Born January 14, 1922 in Melville, Saskatchewan, Margaret was predeceased by her husband, George Gordon Nicolson in 1984; parents, Peter and Maria Glacken along with brothers Alexander, George, Donald, Peter and John; and sisters Agnes, Eileen, Helen and Mary. Margaret is survived by her son Gord (Shelley) and two grandsons, Cole and Taylor, whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Gordon Dash; sister-in-law Francie Glacken; numerous nieces and nephews; and her special friend John Young. Margaret was active and full of life until her passing. She was a long-time member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Margaret’s greatest joy was her grandsons, Cole and Taylor, who held a special place in her heart and both of whom she was very proud of. Margaret will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Memorial Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina on Friday, May 1, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. with a reception following the service. A very special thanks to the Doctors and Nurses at the Pasqua Hospital who cared for Margaret during her brief stay there; as well as special thanks to Margaret’s niece, Erynne Glacken, for all that she has done for Margaret over the past few years. Donations in memory of Margaret may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary, 1820 Cornwall Street, Regina, SK S4P 2K2.
